Location, Travel and Accomodation

Aachen is the western most city of Germany, situated at the border to both the Netherlands and Belgium. Charlemagne lived and died in Aachen. He built the famous cathedral of Aachen around the year 800.

The conference and the tutorial course take place at RWTH Aachen university, one of the leading universities in Germany.

Travelling from Munich to Aachen requires approx. 5:40 hours by train and 6:30 hours by car. The distance is 640 km. Aachen is within one hour driving distance from the international airports at Cologne (Köln/Bonn, CGN) or Düsseldorf (DUS). Train connections (1 to 1:30 hours) from the airports to Aachen main station are available approximately every half hour.
